For Skype for Business Online, this feature requires Microsoft PSTN Conferencing, Exchange Unified Messaging, or a 3rd party audio conferencing provider. Mar 20, 2020 In 2011, it was acquired by Microsoft Corporation. Since it's acquisition, Microsoft has been integrating Skype into its own core products. In 2015, Microsoft replaced its primary messaging app for businesses known as Lync with the new Skype for Business. It combines elements and features from both Lync and the consumer version of Skype.

Basic client limitations
The features below are available using the Full client and are not available with the Basic client:
- Manage team call settings
- Manage delegates
- Handle another's calls if configured as a delegate
- Manage a high volume of calls
- Initiate a call to a Response Group
- Call park
- Change greeting
- Group call pickup
- Missed call notification emails are not generated when a user status is UM disabled and they are using a legacy Outlook Client (2013 or earlier)
Online or Hybrid user account limitations
User accounts can exist either Online or On-premises, and that will affect the features available to that user. Users with accounts on Skype for Business Online will not have access to the following features, even with the Full client:
- Enhanced Presence: Use a photo from any public site for My Picture
- Contacts: Search for Response Groups
- IM Support: Persistent Chat (Group Chat) integration
- IM Support: Escalate a Persistent Chat room to a Skype for Business Meeting with one click
- External Users: Conduct two-party or multiparty calls with external users

How do I know if my plan includes Office 2013/2016 programs?
As you can see in the video, you’ll see the Office programs you have available on your Office installation page, which you can access after signing into Office 365. The list of Office applications varies depending on your plan and operating system.
Lync Web App Plug-in Installation
If you don’t see any available installs, contact your IT admin. If you are the Office 365 admin for your organization, you’ll need to assign licenses for users to download the latest version of Office. Check out this Microsoft help article if you’re a small business account admin, or this help article if your org has a Midsize or Enterprise plan.
I don’t need PowerPoint, do I have to install it?
In Office 365, all the Office programs are packaged together for download and installation, so there’s no way to exclude an individual application.
